Would be curious if one of those Mitsubishi "add on" units would be...

...a good addition.

Have thought that if the old system goes out, the Mitsubishi would still be chugging along to partially heat or cool the house while the original system is replaced. Just leave the door to that room open.

The replacement Trane system can then be smaller due to the Mitsubishi taking a chunk of the HVAC duties.
